Boots on the ground only, can get basic info from the weather channel. If you are located near the stadium or work for NASA please feel free to post important info as soon as you know it.

why do you think the casino will let you bet 40k on a side and only $500 early in the week on the o/u. because it's what they dont know that will kill them.

post important info like what direction in relation to the field, which side will have the sun in receivers eyes etc.

both these fields are natural grass so it very important. the weather can be very different in both these locations eventhough they are only a few hundered miles apart. i left philly on day driving to pitt, it was sunny and beautiful, a few hours later approaching pitt, i was in a blinding snow storm

</PRE>

NOW FOR THE WEEKEND POTENTIAL. LOOKS LIKE SOME WAA SNOW POSSIBLESATURDAY AS LOW PRESSURE ORGANIZES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NATION AND MOVES EASTWARD. THIS IS SUPPORTED BY THE 00Z GFS AS WELL AS THE 00Z CANADIAN. THE CANADIAN HAS A FAIRLY POTENT SHORT WAVE THAT DIVES INTO A SHARPENING TROUGH. IT APPEARS THERE WILL BE SOME BLOCKING DOWNSTREAM, THEREFORE THIS STORM SHOULD BE FORCED TO PASS JUST TO OUR SOUTH. IF THIS TRACK COMES TO BE REALITY, THEN A WIDESPREAD SNOWFALL WILL OCCUR ACROSS THE CWA SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY. ATTM, WE WILL KEEP POPS AT LOW CHC AND EXTEND THEM THROUGH ABOUT 18Z SUNDAY, THEN TAPER TO A SLIGHT CHC POP. STAY TUNED ON THIS ONE!

Pitt long range

LONG TERM (WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY)...A RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE BUILDING INTO THE DISTRICT THURSDAY WILL BRING DRY WEATHER FOR THURSDAY INTO FRIDAY. ANOTHER CLIPPER MOVING ACROSS THE DISTRICT SATURDAY WILL MEAN A CHANCE OF SNOW SHOWERS FOR SATURDAY INTO SATURDAY NIGHT

We are going to get rocked in Philly (7-14 inches), but the snow event will wind down on Sunday morning. The field will be covered and the field has underground heaters that will serve to keep it playable. What concerns me most are the winds which are forecasted at 20 MPH gusting to 45 MPH. I must travel 60 miles to the game and will be freezing my butt off well up in the stadium. There is an unbelievable thread at the Eagles website with 50,000 views and 100 pages (Ace Like Thread)just on the weather as it progressed this week. It seems the speculation is about over and the weather will be as described above. Only one thing for me to do to keep warm-:drink:

I wonder if everyone is overlooking the cold a little bit. When it gets down to single digits (plus windchill) that's REALLY FRIGGIN' COLD. The ball's gonna be like a rock. Similar to last year's Tennesee-NE game, not a lot of scoring there. Hmmmmmmmm...........

Bucks I will be there as well but I have a much easier trip to the Linc. 10-15 inches according to NBC 10 as of tonight. The wind is the key factor as Bucks said pops not the white stuff (at least not yet). I'll let you know tomorrow afternoon what we're looking at but the heaters should help keep the field in playing condition for Sunday. It will be very cold Saturday night overnight so there may be some ice issues and blowing snow issues but since the game isn't til Sunday afternoon most of that should have dissipated. The WIND will be a killer though.

I'll give you what I know tomorrow afternoon pops...good luck this weekend.

For those interested in gametime weather, I believe that most of the popular weather sites on the net (not endorsing any of them) have hour-by hour forecasts. Not sure how reliable they are but its about as good as it gets. On the one I follow, calling for gametime temps in Pittsburgh in the teens with wind in the mid single digits. I'm sure that could change the close we get to Sunday night however......

I will echo the general sentiment of what sportsbet said.....

WIND is the biggest element in holding down the scoring when it comes to the weather.....I've watched games played in snowstorms or rain that still produce 50-60 or more points....

If the quarterback can't throw the ball where the receiver can catch it because the wind is howling......then the only thing left is trench warfare and running the ball......wind produces drop dead unders more than any other weather factor....

Local Weather-Philly

As of 8 this morning, snow should be over soon. Reports state field both covered and heated. They are calling for actual temp in the low teens, wind chill below zero, and winds from the N/NW at 20-30 MPH with gusts to 45 MPH. This snow is too powdery to make a good ice wrapped battery ball, so that should help the Falcons :b

Agree completely with Marco's previous post. both weather.com and accuweather are predicting strong winds this afternoon and evening in philly...with gusts over 40 mph. I am not a huge fan of big negative moneyline numbers, but I may go to Oly and take advantage of totals props and bet under 47, 47', whatever.

good luck no matter which way the wind blows...

tks guys

looks like the wind will be a greater factor than the field. atl need a dry field to score any points. the o/u are so low now 34 & 36 that with turnover alone it should get their. i going to take a shot at the overs on both, not doing anything on the sides as of right now. good luck, and stary warm to all the guys going to the game
